Starting Up Remote Assistance
Provided you are connected to the Internet, Richmond IT can take over your computer remotely, enabling us to diagnose and fix problems quickly and effectively.
If you allow us to, we can connect directly to your PC to diagnose problems and fix them. To do this, you will need to download the access software by clicking the appropriate button below.
Please note that this does not install anything permanently on your computer, but merely runs once a program (called Teamviewer) that enables us to take over your PC or Laptop so that we can help you. At all times, you will be able to see what we are doing to your computer, and take back control of the mouse and keyboard if you wish to.
After clicking on the appropriate button, you will be prompted as to whether you want to RUN or SAVE the download.
Click on RUN and after a short delay while Teamviewer downloads and start running, you will see a window with a numeric code called "YOUR ID" and a 4-digit password.
This is the information that you will need to give to us, after which we will be able to control your computer mouse and keyboard and so assist you.
We should stress that this is quite safe - there is no chance of any virus being passed to your computer this way - the computers we use for remote support have the highest quality anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed and are routinely scanned to ensure that they are completely clear of infections.
